    Job Description


    Reporting to a New Product Development Group Leader, the R& D Technician, will assist with efforts in developing synthetic pathways and manufacturing processes toward new high value added pharmaceutical intermediates and bulk pharmaceutical drugs. This entry level position will involve approximately 70% bench work with the remainder involved in results reporting, team collaboration, plant support work and instrumentation troubleshooting and maintenance.

    Job Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with development of synthetic pathways and manufacturing processes toward new high value added pharmaceutical intermediates and bulk pharmaceutical drugs
  • Independently carries out laboratory experimental programs defined by supervisor or lead chemist
  • Performs troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and experimental techniques
  • Properly maintain lab equipment
  • Operates analytical equipment and collect analytical data as required

    Job Qualifications

  • A BS in Chemistry with two or more years of experience in a research laboratory. Alternately 5 or more years of experience in pharmaceutical laboratory may be considered.
  • Operational knowledge of analytical instrumentation
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations
  • Proficiency with standard synthesis laboratory operations including but not limited to glassware assembly per reaction condition specifications, atmospheric and vacuum distillation, crystallization and re-crystallization, and filtration will be beneficial.
  • Windows based computer knowledge
