Job Description

Serco, Inc. is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with Howitzer design experience.

Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for deriving and developing mechanical designs that meet customer requirements for military development programs.

Major Duties:
Candidate as an engineering specialist, will plan work, develop methods and procedures, and provide the necessary technical assistance in support of the military construction programs. Prepares comments and participates in design review conferences as to adequacy of plans and specifications with regard to constructability, and operability. Candidate will prepare plans, specifications, estimates, and documents for small projects, for maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of buildings and compound facilities, such as new office layout, space distribution and rehabilitation. Monitors the Quality Assurance Inspection Program and follows the correction of the recommended remedial measures keeping the Area Engineer and Resident Engineers informed of progress attained, record keeping, program compliance and maintaining up-to-date standards.

Required Skills
  • Candidate must have a minimum of a BS in Mechanical Engineering (MSME is a PLUS) with at least 3 years of Military Hardware design experience.
  • Candidates MUST also have experience with Pro E, Maya and Max a plus.  
  • Wire model creation, model texturing and animation may be required.
  • Candidate with C/C++ programming and IT experience a plus.
  • MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR SECURITY CLEARANCE.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen

Qualifications:

Applicants must demonstrate the following specialized experience in their resumes.

  • Experience with Howitzer design
  • Professional engineering knowledge and abilities applicable to a wide range of concepts, theories, principles, practices, and techniques of the primary engineering discipline, with emphasis on how they relate to military, civil works, and environmental construction.
  • Working knowledge of and close familiarity with various professional engineering disciplines and practical knowledge of construction methods.
  • Professional knowledge of the principles and skills required to perform quality assurance surveillance and construction operations.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication sufficient to deal with a variety of military customers, contractors, regulators, and technical/professional contacts at construction sites, in meetings, during negotiations, etc.
