Job Description

Takes ownership and responsibility for being the primary sales contact and liaison for an assigned National Account(s) at the headquarter level and individual agency locations.  Partners with National Account(s) to maximize sales and yield of Cruise West products. Builds and maintains Cruise West’s relationships with National Accounts.  Is responsible for maximizing revenue and yield generated from National Account(s) partners.

Major Areas of responsibility

  • Responsible for all activities that lead to exceeding annual National Accounts Revenue Plan.
  • Owns and manages the implementation and results obtained from National Accounts marketing plans. Has oversight of and responsibility for marketing plans. Partners with Manager of Partner Marketing to ensure plans are implemented successfully.
  • Responsible for developing individual National Accounts Marketing Programs and developing methods for communication with National Accounts, with oversight from Director of Global Sales.
  • Works with Web Training team to develop training programs specific to the National Accounts. Delivers targeted, high ROI, training programs for National Accounts.
  • Represents CW at select national conferences and events. Gives presentations at regional training sessions, participates in select planned consumer cruise nights, attends planned tradeshows and annual congress meetings.
  • Negotiates and manages National Accounts contract renewals. Establishes group agreements for all National Accounts.
  • Manages to National Accounts sales goals. Initiates and implements programs to build sales on need products.  Communicates promotions.  Makes sales calls to National Accounts individual locations to grow sales and motivate their management to support Cruise West. 
  • Provides ongoing feedback from National Accounts on our products and service levels to ensure product satisfaction.
  • Prepares and analyzes required monthly, quarterly, and yearly National Accounts reports.
  • Analyzes acquisition cost per passenger and develops cost efficiency initiatives.
  • Codes and tracks all approved co-op support.  Provides weekly report on sales progress, marketing initiatives underway, recommendations for future promotions and ROI on completed events. Coordinates achieved over-ride payments.  Designs/requests new reports that will provide effective and efficient analysis of business.
  • Manages National Accounts budgets and oversees invoicing and cooperative marketing dollars.
  • Coordinates National Accounts escorted FAM trips and special events.
Required Skills
  • Minimum education requires an undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related job experience and a minimum of 3-5 years successful sales experience in the travel industry.  Knowledge of current marketing techniques with proven application.
  • Computer skills and knowledge to prepare reports, contracts, word processing projects and spreadsheets.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform analysis involving ratios and percentages.
  • Proven ability to close sales, problem-solve and make sound recommendations.
  • Excellent skills in verbal/written communication, organization, analysis, multi-tasking, and relationship building.
  • Confident public speaker.
  • Task/goal oriented, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.  Work well independently and with a team.  Focused and able to see projects from inception to completion.
  • Prior P&L Responsibilities desired
