- Performs management consulting for federal, state, local, and multilateral public managers in the following program areas: greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, environmental compliance, lifecycle GHG assessment, environmental management systems, environmental information management, environmentally preferable purchasing/green supply chain, climate change, and sustainable and energy efficient facility management.
- Leads a variety of projects supporting high level government programs to include program planning support (e.g. strategic planning, policy analysis, cost-benefit analysis, training and guidance development, program assessment, stakeholder outreach, and technical analysis.
- Keeps abreast of government agency requirements in assigned program areas.
- Oversees client relationships and manages budget and schedule for multiple projects.
- Serves effectively on project teams within a matrix managed organization.
- Effectively and efficiently communicates with clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Masters degree in engineering management, public administration, business administration, economics, or policy analysis with an undergraduate degree in engineering or other physical science with application to environmental issues. Other science or engineering advanced degrees will also be considered.
· Six or more years related professional experience. Preference given to candidates with direct professional experience supporting government environmental or energy activities.
· Applicants to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, only applicants who are eligible for a security clearance or those with current security clearances will be considered. Please note that only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
· Superior analytical and communication skills are required, both oral and written. Publications list requested.
· Must be available for occasional travel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· LEED Accredited Professional
· Professional engineers license and/or Project Management Professional Certification.
· Recent, direct experience working with government sustainability programs at the headquarters levels. Specific desired experience includes, but is not limited to:
1. GHG accounting
2. Executive Order 13423 and Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 implementation.
3. LEED assessments for existing buildings
4. Building energy audits
· Demonstrated project management and business development skills.
· Proven record in positions of increasing responsibility in analyzing organizational environmental issues, regulations, standards, risks, and setting funding priorities.
· Substantial experience in maintaining effective relationships with government clients and in developing new government business.
