The Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Boston University is seeking a qualified candidate for a faculty position in the Mathematics Education program. This is an assistant professor tenure-track position to start September 1, 2010.
Description of Duties
- Develop and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education (PreK-12).
- Conduct a program of scholarly research and publication appropriate for mathematics education.
- Seek external funding for research activities.
- Provide professional academic advisement to students including those seeking licensure for teaching.
- Supervise the research of master's and doctoral students.
- Build positive relations with local schools, other departments at Boston University, the Massachusetts Department of Education, and professional organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate in Mathematics Education or Mathematics
- Experience teaching mathematics at the K-12 level
