Job Description

The Department of Film &Television at Boston University invites candidates for a three-year renewable position in Production at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Production program is part of an integrated Liberal Arts curriculum that includes Screenwriting and Media Studies. Production on film remains central to our program even as we integrate HD digital media into our core courses. All post-production is digital.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will be an accomplished filmmaker who can impart technical and conceptual production skills to undergraduate and graduate students in hands-on production classes.  Although expertise in a particular craft (cinematography, editing, producing, etc.) is welcome, we seek a complete filmmaker. Some previous teaching experience is required; a graduate degree, though not essential, is helpful.  Responsibilities include advising students; service in the Dept, College and University as a part of the Assistant Professor rank along with continued pursuit of creative work.
