Job Description

Key Results Area:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the safety, staffing, training, material receiving, and cost performance of the component warehouse. In addition, this position will supervisor the daily transfer of materials between component warehouses and manufacturing.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Contribute to the accomplishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, production, cost and development.

  • Coordinate all housekeeping efforts in the component warehouses.

  • Perform weekly trailer safety audits.

  • Provide staff development, coaching, and training, including forklift driver certification and documentation.

  • Monitor inspection of material handling equipment (tractor trucks) and coordinate scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs.

  • Coordinate production requirements with production supervisors and all other necessary internal customers.

  • Coordinate, monitor, and troubleshoot component inventory to maintain inventory accuracies above 95%.

  • Coordinate day-to-day WMS activities and improvements.

  • Maintain accuracy of component trailer status and initiate trailer movement to and from manufacturing.

  • Troubleshoot and determine root cause of manufacturing downtime associated with component discrepancies.

  • Monitor scanning systems, assuring proper functionality of scanners and associated equipment.

  • Maintain hourly pay sheets, punch detail reports, and attendance point accrual.

  • Coordinate outbound component shipments and facilitate the organization and shipment of scrap finished goods aerosol cans.

  • Develop and maintain standard operation procedures to improve productivity of subordinates and efficiencies of processes.

  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate company safety rules and procedures to United Industries employees. Monitor employees at all times to ensure understanding and compliance.

  • Create and maintain a positive environment for all employees free of intimidation and harassment.

  • Responsible for the selection and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems and disputes.

Required Skills

 

  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Working Conditions:

  • 90% Manufacturing/Warehouse

  • 10% Office

Required Experience

 

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 1 year relevant experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience.
