GENERAL SUMMARY:
Position is on the staff of a not-for-profit government consulting firm located in McLean, VA. The Logistics Analyst will analyze logistics processes and information systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop policies and procedures. The Logistics Analyst will serve as a team member on tasks and will be required to independently manage analysis subtasks. We are actively looking for a person who has a breadth and depth of knowledge of Marine Corps logistics. This person would initially manage a DOD L&MR-funded Readiness-based Sparing (RBS) effort in support of the Marine Corps Logistics Command in Albany, GA. Concurrent with this effort, the person would develop business in the area much as LMI has done in various other locations such as with TRANSCOM.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzing complex Marine Corp logistics processes.
- Assessing supply chain operations, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and developing solutions.
- High level coordination of alternative logistics concepts using mathematical models, simulation tools, and supply chain theory
- Performing studies and analyses and generating technical documentation of the results
- Creating and presenting briefings to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
- Building research project plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, operations management, management sciences, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or other related quantitative discipline.
- Comprehensive understanding of Marine Corps logistics processes
- Some understanding of spares forecasting in procurement and deployment
requirements
- Able to perform logistics process improvements, such as critically assess the supply chain; identify opportunities for improvements; develop solutions; and implement changes.
- Work on site in the Albany, GA area.
- Ability to work independently on analysis tasks
- Availability for occasional travel.
