The Clinical Systems Application Specialist is responsible to provide industry expertise to the implementation and optimization of Epic clinical software. Responsibilities include: System build and testing, clinical library build, on site support and phone support for physicians and clinical staff. In addition, this position will coordinate and lead meetings related to implementation. The Clinical Systems Application Specialist will learn the software, conduct workflow analysis of business operations, establish change control procedures, and work with vendors and end users to define changes needed to tailor systems to DHS and WIITTS. This position will work with clinical management, the appropriate user groups, and training to implement change. 24x7 call rotation is required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma with one year of advanced training and/or schooling and a minimum of 5 years work experience in the area of Clinical/Patient Care Pharmacy, Lab, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Imaging, Medical Informatics or an Associate degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 3 years work experience in the area of Clinical/Patient Care Pharmacy, Lab, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Imaging, Medical Informatics.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of clinical workflow and clinical operations
- Attend EpicCare training ad completes EpicCare certification within 6 months of employment.
- Maintain EpicCare Certification
- Available for 24 x 7 Call Rotation
- Ability to travel to various clinic locations
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Preferred:
1. Familiarity with Epic software and/or implementation methodology of clinical software.
2. Healthcare management/leadership experience.
3. Nursing/clinical background
