The Philadelphia, PA office of Life Cycle Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer with experience in Programming and Database development/tracking to support the Steam/Diesel electrical power generation machinery control systems on US Navy ships. The selected candidate will be interfacing with program managers, engineers and logisticians, involving U.S. Navy civilian personnel, support contractors and industry representatives.
Job duties will include:
- Programming and Database Development/Tracking
- Working with electronics (PLCs, Switchboards and Switches)
- Interfacing with OEMs and Vendors and prepping equipment for installation, testing and troubleshooting
- Participating in software evaluation reviews
- Apprising senior management with project status
- Generating specification requirements for vendors/OEMs
- Acting as subject matter expert during offsite meetings
Requirements include:
Ø 3 - 5 years of programming experience (SQL, Visual Basic, Vizio, PLC, C++, GE Funuc, Woodward)
Ø BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree
Ø Experience w/ power generation systems or controls preferred
Ø Experience with Navy shipboard controls systems definite plus
Ø Strong ability in the use of Microsoft Access and Excel
Ø Experience with industrial automation systems will be considered
Ø Must be a team player and possess excellent communication and writing skills.
The candidate must be a US citizen and be capable of obtaining a Secret D.O.D. security clearance.
