Perficient is seeking an experienced Visual Designer with solid skills in graphic and technical design for the web to join our team in St. Louis or Minneapolis. As a creative consultant, you will work closely with consulting professionals who are dedicated to the delivery of elegant user experiences. The ideal candidate possesses a solid understanding of visual design processes, user-centered design principles, absolute working comfort with HTML and CSS, excellent visual design skills, technical know-how, and expertise in design for web and desktop application frameworks. You will have an excellent understanding of typography, color theory and layout, and enjoy a high-profile role in which you influence clients and shape the solutions we deliver.

 Examples of Responsibilities:

• Create design strategies based on understanding user, business, and functional requirements through methods such as contextual inquiry, stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and competitive/heuristic review.
• Generate multiple design solutions using rapid visualization techniques.
• Create visual comps, alternative solutions, select  final version based on business, brand and user requirements.
• Work with web developers and engineers to deliver a final product.
• Execute cross-browser technical design and HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
• Provide graphics assets required by a development team.
• Develop a visual vocabulary of site elements/styles that reinforce a brand throughout a site or application.

• Strong graphic design and user experience skills
• Ability to take designs from low-fidelity and wireframe concepts to compelling, usable visual comps for web and desktop environments.
• User-centered design, attention to detail, ability to balance multiple product requirements.
• Excellent understanding of color, composition, imagery and typography.
• Familiarity with web development technical issues (web standards and accessibility.)
• Four or more years participating in product development lifecycle of several successfully launched web and/or software applications.
• Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, CSS, HTML, XHTML, JavaScrip, portal technologies, Web 2.0 design principles
• Portal and CMS frameworks such as Joomia, Drupal, Sharepoint and Websphere a plus.
• Mobile device design or development a plus.
• BFA preferred. BA/BS or above in Graphic Design, Information Design.
• Candidate must provide design portfolio/URLs for design samples.
