The Project Manager is a senior resource with extensive experience leading teams in developing information systems. The Project Manager is accountable for developing a partnership with the customer and maintaining that partnership for the entire duration of the project.

• The Project Manager estimates project effort and duration, manages the day-to-day activities of the project team, executes project control and project reporting activities, coordinates signoff on project deliverables, and serves as the primary contact between the project team, the Programme Office, and members of the Project Steering Committee. • The successful candidate must have at least eight years experience managing full life cycle software development efforts, using industry standard project management and quality management principles as espoused by the OGC, CMM and/or the PMI. • He/she must also have successfully managed projects of at least 12 months in duration and/or with budgets in excess of $1M (USD). • This position will be based in San Diego, CA, with extensive travel to Latin America.

• Ability to manage concurrent software development activities where designs require complex technical architectures using formal software engineering and project management practices • Ability to evaluate business variables, making sound decisions regarding project situations, the business environment, and client relationships, as well as account and business strategies • Ability to develop, implement and effectively manage project plans • Ability to effectively manage project scope, resources, schedule, costs, and product quality using formal software engineering and project management practices • Ability to effectively manage project human resources for software development efforts through organizational planning, staff acquisition and team development • Ability to effectively manage communications in a complex project environment through communication planning, information distribution and performance reporting • Ability to effectively manage project risk for software development efforts through risk identification, quantification and control • Ability to manage client expectations by fully defining requirements, obtaining necessary approvals and continuous communication • Must be fluent or conversant in Spanish and/or Portuguese. • Project management certification and experience in Cable TV/DTH industry are a plus.
