Summary: The IBS Technical Analyst is a senior resource with extensive experience developing technical solutions with IBS. The IBS Technical Analyst is accountable for ensuring that the client’s problem domain and associated data are understood and that the system configuration addresses those needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Working with our clients, assist in identifying the business processes and the data requirements associated with those processes.
- Work with the database administrator to ensure that the business use and the logical data models are synchronous.
- Identify and report technical risks throughout the life of the project and provides mitigation strategies for those risks
- Analyze, design and implement data migration and database conversion needs
- Coach, mentor, and transfer knowledge to the client database administrators
- Work with the Architect and Business Analysts to ensure that the data models accurately reflect the business use case model, technical requirements, and are reconciled with each other
- Manipulate source code to fix data integrity issues or to extend usability of software code.
- May be required to lead a team of client DBA’s through the analysis, design, construction, test, and implementation phases of the project
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum four years of data analysis experience on multiple projects with production level experience included
- In-depth understanding of DBMSs, database modeling, SQL, and tools to manipulate data required; experience with Oracle preferred.
- Experience implementing ERPs, preferably large solutions with a wide variety of integrated applications
- Experience programming in languages such as C, VB, C++, and developing APIs.
- Experience in performing mission-critical database conversions using 4GL tools
- Ability to reconcile/review the logical and physical data models with the database administrator
- Ability to develop and be accountable for the conceptual and logical data models
- Ability to determine the data conversion process
- Experience using word processing software; spreadsheet software; database software, contact management systems and other software tools
- A self-driven approach that takes responsibility for deliverables, ensuring their accuracy and completeness, with minimal direction required
- Knowledge of UML and service-oriented architecture a plus.
- Team leadership experience preferred
This position may require domestic and/or international travel for extended periods.
