Cobalt - the automotive industry's most comprehensive provider of integrated solutions for digital advertising – seeks a Director of Ad Operations. The Director of Ad Operations (DAO) is responsible for over-seeing all delivery and execution aspects associated with OEM sponsored digital ad campaigns for participating dealerships. These activities include, but not limited to, QA of Setup/Order Review, On-Boarding, Launch of Campaigns, Review of Daily and Weekly Campaign Performance Reports, Optimization of Dealer Accounts (budget reviews, ad impressions, ad creative performance, etc.).
The DAO plans, organizes, and provides leadership to the company’s service functions involved in online advertising campaigns, resulting in superior customer service and results for Cobalt customers and meeting campaign goals and objectives. DAO will have dotted line responsibility for managing teams of Online Marketing Specialists with the goal of driving campaign performance and growing the total advertising and promotions budget under management and customer satisfaction with campaign performances. The DAO will also be required to manage and develop best practices and standard operating procedures for improvement and scalability of workflow processes. Once acclimated into the role, the DAO will be knowledgeable with all aspects of the promotions process at Cobalt and be familiar with all promotions running across all OEMs and brands. This leader will also meet regularly with Services personnel, COE leaders, Engineering, Product Managers, etc. to review and discuss what is going well with promotions and developing plans for improving the execution of promotions. This leader will be the primary business owner and requirements driver for the development of new tools and upgrades to Cobalt’s product platforms regarding operational efficiencies.
Candidates must have previous experience with paid search and display advertising, have excellent analytical, oral and written communication, and relationship management skills. The ideal candidate will possess functional knowledge of Digital Marketing strategies, paid search strategies, and have experience managing relationships with external and internal customers at all levels of an organization. The candidate must also have the ability to establish priorities, multi-task, and work proactively, and as part of a team. The candidate will deliver a balanced mix of marketing, creative execution, and a bias for action.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Ad Operations and online marketing
- Minimum of 5 years of overall marketing experience
- BS/BA Degree in related field
- Thorough understanding of web and ad serving technologies, and interactive media formats
- Thorough understanding of ad optimization, inventory reporting, and performance metrics
- Hands-on experience and understanding of 3rd party ad servers like Doubleclick products, Atlas, 24/7, and OAS
- Experience working with enterprise CRM system(s) such as Oracle, Siebel, SalesForce
- Proven abilities in strategic management and leadership skills
- Experience in improvement of processes, strong problem solving and communication skills, customer advocacy orientation, leadership in a cross functional team environment required.
- Experience with industry standards and key performance indicators
- Excellent leadership and management skills with emphasis on mentoring, motivating, and driving a large team to success
- Must be a proven team builder and passionate about customer successes, employee satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
- Highly technical skills and/or aptitude to quickly learn Cobalt products/processes to guide technical direction of team.
- Initiative and consistent track record of superior problem solving and customer service.
- Experience implementing team processes and monitoring effectiveness preferred.
