The Cobalt Group—a leading provider of online retailing and search engine marketing solutions for the automotive industry—seeks qualified applicants for the position of Search Engine Optimization Specialist.
The Search Engine Optimization Specialist develops and implements effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies for assigned customers’ websites, with the goal of generating increased targeted Web traffic and higher lead generation. The Search Engine Optimization Specialist collaborates with and supports Account Advocates to achieve the customers’ strategic Search Engine Optimization goals; is responsible for developing, adhering to, and continually improving and updating Search Engine Optimization standards; and applying industry-standard Search Engine Optimization techniques to Cobalt customer websites.
The Search Engine Optimization Specialist develops, generates, and interprets periodic performance reports used in ongoing site traffic analysis, monitoring organic search placement and evaluating overall Search Engine Optimization strategy effectiveness and makes product improvement suggestions to improve a customer’s ranking in a competitive Search Engine Optimization environment.
The Search Engine Optimization Specialist adheres to and provides suggestions for improving the Search Engine Optimization strategy standards checklist; develops, delivers, and analyzes Search Engine Optimization reports which play a key role in site traffic analysis, organic search placement, and the effectiveness of the overall Search Engine Optimization strategy; and identifies, documents and drives initiatives to strengthen customer relationships and reinforce the value of Cobalt business solutions.
A Cobalt Search Engine Optimization Specialist must stay current on Search Engine Optimization strategies through continuing education, including seminars, books, periodical subscriptions, etc. Once trained, this position requires in-depth knowledge of Cobalt products and services and how they support the customers’ strategic goals.
This position requires a background in search engine optimization and marketing techniques and strategies, including: keyword analysis and selection; competitive site analysis; keyword density analysis; optimization of site content; optimization of meta tags, page titles, and descriptions; inbound and outbound link placement; internal linking strategies; and site submission. The right candidate also has excellent written, verbal, organizational and time management skills; can work independently and with a team; and is able to quickly learn complex software products and explain them to customers.
- 3+ years experience in customer support or technical troubleshooting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
- Proficiency with basic HTML coding.
- Search Engine Optimization experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years organic search experience preferred (Google, Yahoo!, and MSN).
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in consumer Internet marketing preferred.
